ABOUT

- Flora Georgiou, Stage Whispers.

“The development of The Anchor as a theatre company is something to which theatre goers should pay attention”

- Tim Garrett, Theatre People.

“The Anchor Theatre Company lends heart to the future of theatre that looks to the future and is not manacled by tradition, but has learnt from it.”

- Peter Wilkins, Canberra Critics Circle.

The Anchor was founded in 2015 by Katie Cawthorne, Laura Lethlean and Jessica Arthur, who wanted to see authentic stories representing differing perspectives on stage. Since then they have produced work in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. These productions have opened up space around ideas that people are not always comfortable discussing, but are very comfortable judging, with the intent to increase compassion and connect people through shared human experiences.
